Corporate Gifts for Security Teams: Kits, Workshops, CTFs

Corporate gifts for security teams: hardware kits by skill level, a one-day workshop or an in-house CTF, with quotes, VAT invoices and example packs.

Published on 7 min read

The best corporate gift for a security team is an object or experience that serves the job: a hardware kit matched to each person's level, a one-day workshop or an in-house CTF. These gifts often cost little more than a box of swag, but they get used for months and make the team better. Here's how to choose, and how to handle the admin side: quotes, invoices, bulk delivery.

For the details of our offer and a quote request, see our teams page.

Why a hardware kit beats more swag

Security teams get a lot of swag: conference hoodies, stickers, vendor-branded water bottles. One more logo item goes unnoticed. A tool, on the other hand, says something: "we're investing in your skills".

Three arguments to put to your management or procurement team:

  • It gets used. A radio receiver or a logic analyzer (a box that decodes the traffic between electronic chips) is used in home labs, CTFs and sometimes on engagements. It's still on desks a year later.
  • Hardware is a weak spot for many teams. Security people often come from web, network or SOC backgrounds. Radio, RFID or firmware extraction are less familiar. A gift in this area fills a real gap.
  • The message fits. Giving learning to a team whose job is to keep learning is a gift that matches the role.

One precaution: the hardware needs a framework. Everything we sell is presented as a tool for learning and testing on equipment you own or are authorised to test. That's also what to say if your legal team asks.

Useful hardware: kits by skill level

The classic trap is giving everyone the same tool. A senior pentester and a junior SOC analyst don't have the same needs. Here's a simple grid.

Recipient's levelIdeaRetail price (incl. VAT)What they learn
New to hardwareHacker Starter Gift Set: RTL-SDR, Evil Crow RF v2, getting-started guide, gift-boxed€125Radio reception, sub-GHz bands
Beginner, small budgetRTL-SDR on its own€60Software-defined radio
Intermediate8-channel logic analyzer + blank NFC cards€34.80Serial buses, NFC
Junior pentesterRed Team Onboarding Kit: radio and physical-access tools, a CTF puzzle, an exercise pathfrom €159 excl. VAT per personA complete first-month path
Experienced pentesterPhysical Access & RF Recon Kit (2027)€279.99Field kit for authorised engagements: radio, RFID, physical access

A few honest notes:

  • The Proxmark3, the reference tool for auditing RFID and NFC badges, is offered to businesses first. Its price isn't set yet: ask for it in a quote.
  • The field kit covers neither network nor Wi-Fi. If your team mostly does network testing, it's not the right gift.
  • For a very experienced person, something we don't sell may be a better pick: a Saleae logic analyzer, a reference book such as The Hardware Hacking Handbook (No Starch Press, 2021) or a conference ticket.

Our gifts for pentesters page details the tools for this profile.

An experience: a one-day workshop or an in-house CTF

For a team, a shared experience is often worth more than ten individual objects. It creates shared memories and reflexes that show up later on engagements.

The one-day hardware workshop

We run one-day, in-person workshops for 6 to 10 people, kits included. Depending on your team: radio, NFC, firmware extraction. Each participant works on their own hardware, and exercises use lab targets built for the purpose.

It's the ideal format for a pentest team, or a product team that wants to understand hardware attacks on its own connected devices.

The in-house hardware CTF

A CTF ("Capture The Flag") is a competition where you solve security challenges to find "flags". A hardware CTF replaces some online challenges with real objects: radio beacons, tags, chips to read. We design and run this kind of event for team days, awareness weeks and recruitment days.

To extend it, our sister site CyberCTF offers free pentest labs anyone can run on their own machine, remote or on site. If you'd rather run it yourself, our guide How to run a hardware CTF for a company event covers the logistics.

If you can't decide, combine them: an individual kit for everyone, and a workshop for the part of the team with the most to gain on hardware.

The "coming soon" gift

Our physical CTF puzzles open in 2027 and 2028. For a year-end gift, you can announce one puzzle per person and mention it in your quote request: we'll tell you what's realistic.

Logistics: quotes, invoicing, bulk delivery

This is where corporate gifts often get complicated. Here's how it works with us.

  • Quote. Fill in the form on our teams page: team size, type of gift, budget. We reply within 2 working days with a proposal.
  • Invoicing. By invoice, prices excluding VAT, with VAT itemised. Professional hardware can be invoiced on 30-day terms.
  • Delivery. Shipped from France. Say in your request whether you want one bulk delivery to a single address or whether your team is remote: we'll tell you what's possible.
  • Workshops. On site, in France, in French or English.
  • Timing. Our first batches are arriving. We don't promise a delivery date before confirming your order: the quote will state what's feasible for your deadline. For a year-end gift, ask early, as budgets are often decided in November.

One thing to check on your side: tax rules on business gifts (deductibility, VAT recovery) have thresholds that vary by country. Your finance team will know what applies.

Example packs for 5, 15 and 50 people

These examples are starting points, calculated on our retail prices. For volume orders, we prepare a tailored quote.

Team of 5: a kit each

  • 5 Hacker Starter Gift Sets: €625 at retail price.
  • For an already well-equipped team: a logic analyzer and a pack of NFC cards each, €174 at retail price.
  • Optional: a CyberCTF pentest lab tackled as a team on a Friday afternoon.

Team of 15: kits + workshop

  • A one-day hardware workshop, in two groups of 7 or 8 (our workshops take 6 to 10 people).
  • Each participant leaves with their workshop kit.
  • For the team's juniors, the Red Team Onboarding Kit (from €159 excl. VAT per person) extends the workshop.

Team of 50: the event

  • An in-house hardware CTF, with physical challenges and an online part for remote colleagues.
  • A small individual gift for every participant, for example a pack of blank NFC cards (€14.90 retail), and a bigger prize for the winning team.
  • For a group this size, plan your request several weeks ahead: designing the challenges takes time.

Whether you're after a kit per person or a team event, the simplest step is to describe your team to us: our teams page lays out the offer and the quote form, with a reply within 2 working days.
